Hello everyone !
Welcome to another of my 1965 Topps Baseball auctions !
Up for bids is a complete set, 598/598,
average in VG to VgEx condition, with a BVG
5.5 # 134 Mantle and a BVG 5 # 581 Perez RC !!!
Here’s the complete rundown :
10% in Poor to Good,
10% in Good-Vg
20% in
Very Good,
15% in
Vg+
25% in VgEx
20% in Ex or better condition (most of them in Ex-Ex+ condition)
I’ve scanned most
of the star cards for your viewing. Please look closely. Some of
them are quite nice. Besides the two BVG’s
cards, #’s 1 Robinson, 5 Mantle, 20 Bunning, 50 Marichal, 55 Conigliaro, 110 Santo, 138 Gibson, 205 Spahn, 320
Gibson, 377 Stargell, 380 Colavito, 390 Freehan, 410 Aparicio, 460 Allen, 461 Niekro, 470
Berra, 519 Uecker, 526 Hunter RC, 533 McGraw RC, 540 Brock, 560 Powell and 573
Lonborg RC are all in the Ex-Ex+ range,
while #’s 8 Koufax, 16 Morgan RC, 50 Marichal, 120 Robinson, 130
Kaline, 150 Robinson, 160 Clemente, 220 Williams, 260 Drysdale, 340 Oliva, 385 Yaz, 400
Killebrew, 415 Flood, 477 Carlton RC, 500 Mathews and 513 Yankees team card are in the VgEx
to Ex range. #'s 155 Maris, 170 Aaron and 250 Mays are in the G-Vg to VG+ range.
# 350 Mantle is nice but I prefer not giving a grade,
since I’m not a professional grader, but it has overall nice appeal. Main flaws are some
surface wear around the grass area below the bat’s barrel and Mantle’s arm and
with a hairline wrinkle barely noticeable across the middle of the card (you
have to hold it under a light to see it). Back is clean.
In the poor to
fair to good category, about 30-40 cards have moderate to heavy corner
wear, with creases, like # 3 Mantle, # 300 Koufax and # 510 Banks, about 10 cards have some sort of writing (including back of
# 99 Hodges and # 207 Rose, which has some very discret writing on the cap's left part), about 5-6 cards have light moisture, one has tape marks, 3 or 4 have glue spots on back and about 10 cards have light tears or paper loss, including #330 Ford (light paper loss on back). #300 Koufax also has what appears as some staple holes on front (upper border) but they don't go through the
card.
3 of the 7 checklists are unmarked, with the 6th and 7th checklists in Ex or better condition.
This
set is mixed, but with more than 80% in Very Good or better condition, and with most of the all star cards in
the better half, so it would be a great start for any vintage collector.
Shipping from Canada, I can confirm that there are no O-Pee-Chee cards in this set. 598/598 Topps cards. I’ve been in the hobby for more that 35 years, so please bid with confidence.
S/H
is 20.00 for Canadian and U.S. customers. A tracking number will be provided,
so you can bid with confidence. For other countries, please ask for shipping
charges.
Hope
I gave enough info ! Please ask any question. I will try to answer them as
quickly as possible.
Please
be on the lookout starting Thursday September 29th, I’ll be auctionning
1965 Topps star cards individually. Great time to add to your existing set !
Good
luck with your bids and thanks for your trust !
